Frequently asked questions

what is the difference between dynamic braking and regeneration?

Dynamic braking being a phenomenon taking place in locomotives, it can be classified as rheostatic and regenerative. Rheostatic is when the electrical power is dissipated as heat and in the grid resistors and regenerative is when the same is taken in and returned to the supply line as a regenerative form of energy.

Dynamic Braking Resistors from KWK come with varied resistance, power, and current ratings. KWK Resistors also require very little service and maintenance.
