What is the role of Dynamic Braking Resistors in VFD?

VFD’s or variable frequency drives have a common use for braking resistors, so as to dissipate energy that is generated in the motor. the VFD braking resistor works in an unrestricted manner with respect to braking. this means to say that after the power is removed from the armature of the motor, the motor acts as the generator and turns the kinetic energy of the rotational movement of the motor and load into electrical energy.
